Advice for Internet Marketing Newbies
First Off, Don’t believe everything you read. There are so many websites out
there saying “Make a million dollars this week,” “Join our
Program and Retire This Year.” When you’re reading their sales page and
they ask for your email address, your name and the best time to call; do not
give them that information or you will be bombarded with email from everybody
and anybody. They sell that information and you are now considered a
“Lead.” I’m not saying that everyone out there is a bad guy; I’m just
saying “If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.”
Internet Marketing is a really great way to make money online, but No, you
will not get rich overnight. You don’t need a website or a domain name to make
money working from home. It’s nice to have; but when you are first starting off
in “Internet Marketing” you should wait until you have money to
invest. If you have a talent such as grant writing, medical transcriptions,
resume writer, etc. then yes, you should get a website. There are plenty of
sites out there that will let you get a free website. Here are a few, http://freewebs.com
, http://www.bravenet.com and http://www.freeservers.com
.You don’t have to know html with these ones; you just point and click and your
done. If you don’t have a specific talent or a product to sale, then you would
probably be better off to join an affiliate Program.
An affiliate program gives you the opportunity to sell their products and you
make a commission on what you sale. What do YOU want to sale? Food and Drinks,
Games and Toys, Home and Garden, or Business related things. Just make sure they
offer you at least 25% or more commission. Some affiliate programs such as: www.cj.com/
and http://www.clickbank.com have
been around for years. Heck if you want to you can even sell Wisconsin Cheese.
Whatever your interest just type affiliate program-?????? in the search box and
I’ll bet they have an affiliate program.
My next piece of advice would be to subscribe to newsletters that are related
to what ever it is you are selling. If you’re selling gardening products then
subscribe to gardening related newsletters. If you’re selling software or
business related products then subscribe to Internet Marketing newsletters. You
can find newsletters to subscribe to at places like these: http://www.jogena.com
, http://www.bellaonline.com and http://www.list-city.com
. Those are just a few ezine directories; type in “free newsletters”
in your search box and you’ll find plenty of newsletters to join. Before you
subscribe to every newsletter out there, be selective and check out their
archives. See if they accept free or paid ads. See if they accept articles. If
they do then you are in luck and should subscribe. Visit the forums and
newsgroups that are related to what you are selling. Include a 2 line ad with
your link when you post and do the same with all your outgoing email.
I found your post informative and helpful to me and many others, Thank you and have a great day!
